Sydney Surge Joins ABA 2022

The ABA League Australia welcomes the Sydney Surge to the league.  2021 has been hit with Covid and as lockdowns still hold the city in its grip – the team has decided to join now and get things set for next season.  The new owners like that the league has been offering a $20,000 prize to the winning team and see this as a major incentive to get in and go for it.

The interest in the ABA (American Basketball Association) in Australia is growing, we have been having meetings with other leagues and community leagues looking to offer their players other alternatives that can help further their careers.

In 2022 & 2023 season the ABA will be working with former NBA & ABA players and coaches putting on seminars and pro camps for Australian players and coaches.  We are looking forward to expanding the brand and hopefully one day become a major league in the game of basketball in Australia.
